Guest Tickets & Campus Access

e-Tickets (QR codes) with the ceremony information will be sent to the registered guest(s) by SMS at least two working days prior to the respective Commencement Day. Please ensure you have the e-Ticket for entering the campus/hall. Graduates may also retrieve the e-Tickets for their registered guests via AIMS (Student Services/Alumni Services >> Confirmation of Commencement Attendance) when necessary.

Both graduates and guests are required to show the e-Ticket (in electronic or printed form) for scanning at the entrances of the CityU campus and all ceremonial and live broadcast halls.

Graduates will be assigned a seat. Free seating for guests.

The e-Tickets (QR codes) for graduates and guests are differentiated by colours. Blue is for graduates and red is for guests. Please refer to the samples below for reference.

e-Ticket Samples

  1. Before entering information of your guests, please make sure that they have read the Personal Information Collection Statement.
  2. Upon entry to the CityU campus on the Commencement day, please present the e-Ticket either in electronic or printed form, together with your HKID card/passport/personal identity document, to the security staff at the campus entrance.
  3. The duty staff will scan the QR code on the e-Ticket for your admission to the campus and the ceremonial hall. Please DO NOT fold the printed copy QR code.
  4. The e-Ticket is non-transferrable and admits the registered graduate/guest only.
  5. Graduates will be assigned a seat in the hall while free seating for guests.
  6. Guest seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Guests may be directed to watch the live broadcast of the ceremony at a designated venue if the hall is full.
  7. The hall will be open for admission about 30 minutes before the ceremony. Please be seated 10 minutes before the ceremony.
  8. The right of admission to the hall is reserved and subject to the venue's conditions of entry. Late-comers will only be admitted at the appropriate points of the ceremony as determined by the University.
  9. As courtesy to the ceremony, any person who disturbs the event or other attendees will be asked to leave the venue.
  10. Eating and drinking are not allowed throughout the ceremony.
  11. Photo-taking and video recording will take place during the Commencement. The live videos will be webcast through different platforms on the Commencement day. The image and/or videos may be posted on CityU’s websites and social media for promotional and archival purposes.
